"The White Lotus" has proven one thing: the formula of luxury resorts, eccentric wealth, dark secrets, and a bit of mystery is completely irresistible and makes for absolute compulsive watching.

Season four is officially happening, meaning a whole new set of questions about who’s checked in, who’s shady, and who’s going home early (we know there’s gonna be at least one murder, please don’t lie to me)

Each season has planted us in a different paradise with dramatically different energy: Season one took us to Hawaii, where entitled guests clashed with staff and class tensions erupted.

Season two saw us in Sicily with a sex-soaked, murder-tinged roster of rich tourists; and season three sent us to Thailand, where intertwining guests and staff played out conflicting desires and existential angst against a tropical backdrop.

Despite rotating casts, the series always serves up sharp satire, a mystery or two, and an unflinching look at how humans behave under pressure.

Now season four is officially in motion. Filming begins soon, though we likely won’t see it until 2027, which feels cruel, frankly, but anticipation is part of the ritual.

This time, the chaos relocates to France with reports pointing to the French Riviera and ultra-luxury settings, including the storied Château de La Messardière. Think Côte d’Azur glamour, generational wealth, couture wardrobes and emotional meltdowns.

The cast is entirely new; no former guests or staff confirmed to return yet. And that clean slate matters. Creator Mike White is once again assembling a mix of beloved character actresses and intriguing fresh faces we’re all about to become obsessed with.

Among the confirmed names: Alexander Ludwig, AJ Michalka, Marissa Long and Caleb Jonte Edwards, a blend of recognisable talent and rising performers who feel primed for its signature slow-burn unraveling.

If history is any guide, they’ll arrive polished, privileged and presenting their best selves… right up until the cracks begin to show.

Plot details remain tightly under wraps, but the blueprint doesn’t need reinventing. Expect razor-sharp satire, uncomfortable dinner conversations, staff observing more than they let on, and a mystery threaded through the season like a silk scarf hiding something darker.

New country. New cast. Same exquisite dysfunction.
