After “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: South Africa” smashed Showmax records earlier this year, the streamer has doubled down on the glamour, the chaos, and the continent-spanning drama with “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Africa”.

This time, some of Africa’s most iconic Housewives are jetting off together and if you thought one franchise was spicy, try putting Durban, Johannesburg, Nairobi, Lagos, and Abuja in the same villa.

Representing Durban are Annie Mthembu, Angel Ndlela, and Jojo Robinson. Johannesburg brings the unforgettable Christall Kay and “Madam” Evodia Mogase, while Nairobi enters the chat via Dr Catherine Masitsa and Zena Nyambu. Rounding things off in true Naija glamour are Princess Jecoco from Abuja and Mariam Timmer from Lagos.

Two episodes in, the ladies are already delivering the kind of first-impression commentary that reality TV dreams are made of.

Here’s what went down when the Housewives sized each other up for the very first time:

Annie: Serving Unfiltered Energy

Annie had thoughts, and she did not sugar-coat them.

  • Princess Jecoco: “Pure vibes. Fun, loud in the best way, seasoned with spice. She’s a full-on tequila shot, not a sip.”
  • Mariam: “Baby, that woman can TALK. I blinked and she was already on paragraph seven.”
  • Dr C: “Arrogant.com. If confidence were a podcast, she’d have 100 episodes out already.”
  • Madam: “Cool, calm, collected. Grown-woman energy.”
  • Zena: “Still buffering… loading 27%.”
  • Christall: “Hhmm…” — and yes, that was her entire paragraph.

Christall: “Some of Them Were Jealous”

Johannesburg’s resident diamond-lover had a very different vibe check.

Christall says she arrived excited and open to meeting everyone, but walked into tension she didn’t expect.

“Mariam and Princess were nasty and ugly to me,” she says. “I was shocked because I didn’t know them at all.”

Drama? Already simmering.

Dr C: Shock, Panic… and a Reunion Flashback

When Zena walked into the room, Dr Catherine’s soul apparently left her body.

“My initial reaction was absolute shock,” she admits.

Coming off an explosive Nairobi reunion, seeing Zena triggered “a rush of intense emotions” and even fear.

“I was thousands of miles from home and unprepared to re-enter the combat. My mind raced.”

If this is Episode 1 energy, then viewers better buckle up.

Jojo: “They Look Exactly the Same in Person”

Jojo was the chill one — because she’d done her homework.

“It was cool to see people you’ve watched on TV in person,” she says. “Everyone was exactly how they are on camera.”

For a Housewives crossover, that’s almost shocking.

Mariam: “Some Were Walking on Eggshells”

Lagos’ own Mariam didn’t have any major initial judgments, but she did notice the temperature in the room.

“Some of the ladies were walking on eggshells around me based on how they perceived me from my show,” she says. “It created a sense of respect and boundaries.”

She also expected a bit more… spark.

As for Madam Evodia?

“She didn’t live up to the hype. She was floating and inserting herself into other people’s drama instead of building her own. She hasn’t been on TV for seven years, but that’s not an excuse.”

Shots fired, respectfully.
