While some of us are all like, “Yay, season 3!”, I can’t help but pause and wonder: Do we really need it? Is it worth it?

What could possibly happen next? Their wedding? Joanne’s baptism… in Jewish culture? Or maybe she finally learns how to do her own laundry without burning it?

Anyway. Whether you like it or not, Netflix has officially renewed "Nobody Wants This" for a third instalment, weeks after the second season debuted.

Coming on the heels of season 2, which I’d call “fifty-fifty” because, as I said before, there wasn’t really anything groundbreaking. It mostly felt like that chapter in a book you have to read but don’t really want to.

For a quick recap, season one introduced us to Joanne and her chaotic, messy, sometimes painfully relatable life, giving us plenty of cringe‑worthy laughs and a peek at her evolving relationships.

Season two leaned more introspective, digging into her personal growth, career hiccups, and the awkward dance of adult friendships, without necessarily shaking things up dramatically.

According to "Deadline", season 3 will likely follow Joanne as she begins her conversion to Judaism, a storyline teased in the season 2 finale, and this promises to shift the momentum after the previous season’s slow-burning arc.

The series explores messy love lives, complicated friendships, and chaotic family ties.

The actors themselves have been dropping hints about what’s next.

Kristen Bell, who plays Joanne, joked with "USA Today", “Personally, I see a lot of comedy coming out of Joanne attempting to study to take the Jewish SATs for conversion.

"I’d love to have Joanne have to memorise some facts and crack open some books. I think that would be comedically entertaining for me to play at least.”

Adam Brody, who plays her on-screen partner Noah, added, “And there’s so many relatable things and benchmarks that go into building a life together that they’ve yet to really embark on that

Either way, I’m fine with seeing my favourite rabbi back on screen again. I'm hoping for a wedding episode (complete with drama, tears and burnt challah), maybe we can finally see Joanne tackle adulting with some competence - or at least try.

And let’s not forget Joanne’s sister, who basically stole the spotlight last season when she ditched her man at the engagement “altar.” I wonder what's in store for that one.

Joanne’s conversion storyline could also teach us a thing or two about Jewish traditions, all while still keeping the messy, hilarious tone that makes the show so bingeable.
