Unlocking 'Sesi Ka Rose': Makhadzi's secret collaboration with kwaito legend Mzekezeke

Award-winning South African singer Makhadzi has released her much-anticipated album, "Sesi Ka Rose". 

The album is already the talk on the streets of social media because of her collaboration with the legendary masked Kwaito star Mzekezeke.

Taking fans behind the scenes of "Sunshine", Makhadzi said that despite working on the song together, she didn't get to see his face. 

She took to social media to share more: "I don’t think I will heal from this ... My album is dropping today ... I did a song with Mzekezeke and I never got a chance to see his face ... Trust me, we will never see this face," she wrote on Facebook.

She continued: "Phela, I had to record my verse, and when his turn came, the bouncers came and said that we must go out coz no one allowed to see him."

Mzekezeke rose to fame in the early 2000s with chart-topping hits like, "Guqangama Dolo" and "Izinyoka".

His signature look,  which includes a black mask and orange overalls, has kept his true identity under wraps for decades, sparking many rumours. One of the most popular guesses is DJ Sbu, but he has denied being Mzekezeke.

Besides Mzekezeke, Makhadzi’s new album features exciting collaborations with other artists such as Mr Brown, Dr Skaro, Bellafonte & Mizo Phyll, Dawie and Blissbouy & Blackmyth. 

A few days ago, Makhadzi even let her fans help her choose the album cover on Instagram, sharing that "Sesi Ka Rose" is inspired by someone hardworking and loves to enjoy life. 

She detailed: "SESI KA ROSE 🌹 is a hard-working lady, who can work anywhere as long as she gets money to feed her family. But she makes sure that on weekends she goes out with friends to party, she likes going to a tavern, but her friends force her to go to a fancy club because they enjoy her entertainment.

"She doesn’t even understand English songs, but she pretends like she knows 😂 .When they play slow songs okare akaloma DJ ore adlale fast beats, her aim is to 💦 when she's dancing.💃.

"She is the only person who doesn’t sit down at the groove, she dances till sunrise 🌅. Sesi ka rose, she is a happy soul. She always wants to see people happy."
