Ukhozi FM presenter Selby “Selbeyonce” Mkhize has announced that she is leaving the station after 13 years on the airwaves to “pursue new professional ventures”.
Mkhize has been with the radio station since 2012 and her last show will be on June 18, 2025. Her departure was confirmed in a statement by the station and Mkhize on her official Instagram account.
“The time has come for me to say goodbye to the mighty Ukhozi FM. What an amazing 13 years it has been. Jehova I don’t even know what to say or where to start. God I thank you for the talent you have given me and I never take it for granted,” wrote Mkhize.
“Thank you lord for the best job in the world. The opportunities you have granted me, the people I have met and worked with, the lives I have touched. Nkosi Ngiyabonga.”
Ukhozi FM celebrated Mkhize’s journey at the station, hailing her as a vibrant and influential voice, who flew the station flag proudly.
Mkhize began her journey with Ukhozi FM in 2012 as a contributor on the popular ‘Umnyakazo Top20’ program. In 2014, she secured an official contract on ‘Woza Nabangani Bakho’ afternoon drive show, hosting shows every Monday and Friday.
Ukhozi FM welcomed her to the afternoon drive show team full-time in 2015.
“Selby has been an invaluable member of our family. Her commitment and enthusiasm have significantly contributed to the success of the station,” remarked Lwazi Mthabela Business Manager at Ukhozi FM.
“She has represented the Ukhozi FM brand with pride and professionalism, winning awards and touching the hearts of many.
“We are immensely proud of her growth and hard work in building her personal brand and we wholeheartedly support her as she embarks on this exciting new chapter.”
