Mzansi’s beloved reality show uThando Nesthembu is set to return on Mzansi Magic DStv channel 161 starting December 5 at 8pm. The six-part season will showcase the moments that were hidden from Season 8.
Viewers who have followed the eight seasons of Musa Mseleku’s polygamous family drama since its beginning in 2017 will get a deeper look into the expanding family's real-life experiences in this special.
The "Uncut" episodes will feature never-before-seen footage, what fans label as the truth behind some emotions, including MaYeni's personal conversations, conflicts between Mseleku and MaKhumalo, tensions among the wives, and Mseleku's efforts to manage his family.
The last season of the reality drama concluded with heightened emotions, leaving fans uncertain about the future. The drama in Mseleku’s life centred on his attempt to introduce the fifth wife.
The fans are curious about what actually happened behind the scenes; some conflicts did not add up to them. Some emotions just came out of nowhere, as the unexpected tension and growing distance between the third wife, Thobile “MaKhumalo” Mseleku, and Mseleku have also left fans completely puzzled.
The escalating conflict among the formerly harmonious housewives, who are now consumed by mutual bitterness, is a central focus.
Fans are eager for the uncut footage to shed light on several unresolved storylines. Specifically, viewers want to know more about Mseleku's introduction of a fifth wife. The show only aired the moment he introduced her to his first wife, Busisiwe “MaCele” Mseleku, who was the only one to accept her.
Furthermore, the new wife was already pregnant and has since given birth. How was she integrated into the main household? Another pressing question for fans is the reason behind Nokukhanya “Mayeni” Mseleku's decision to move out and live in Oshebeni.
Fans quickly took to social media to express their anticipation for the reality show's return.
One viewer, @LolzPat, commented on X, questioning a shift in the wives' dynamics: “Does anyone else feel like the wives’ relationships shifted suddenly when Mayeni answered the call from Macele, saying, ‘Who am I talking to?’”
The show's ending dissatisfied some viewers, who now finally hope for a conclusion. @Chery commented that, “Uthando neSthembu has left so many viewers upset and disappointed with its ending because they thought everything would be resolved or bring us to light. However, worry no more because it's surely coming back on the 5th of December!“
