Cape Town has been doing what it does best lately, and that is reminding everyone that nature is the real director in this city.

The past two days have felt less like a cold front and more like that "Tornado" movie they used to play on movie day in primary school, the one where the teacher would say “this is educational” while everyone low-key freaked out.

Local comedian Yaseen Barnes humorously analysed the city's weather patterns, jokingly remarking that "Cape Town is so extra" in his characteristic style.

“In South Africa they have autumn and the rest of the world they have fall because the leaves fall. Here we must call this season ka-dwa,” he said while pointing out the trees that have been dropping leaves and branches in every direction.

“That’s the sound it makes when it hits the floor,” he added, keeping it very Cape Town, very real and very unfiltered.

According to the South African Weather Service, parts of Cape Town and surrounding areas have been hit by a strong cold front bringing heavy rain, powerful winds and localised flooding risks across the Western Cape.

Gusty conditions have also been reported, with trees bending, bins relocating themselves, and anything not nailed down reconsidering its life decisions.

Barnes has also been adding his own flavour to the moment, because in Mzansi, even the weather gets a punchline.

Known for his relatable humour, he joked about how the city refuses to behave like the rest of the world when it comes to seasons.

Barnes did not leave it there, leaning into the moment with his signature humour. “Let me speak to the branch manager,” he joked, turning the falling trees into a full corporate complaint as if the wind had a helpdesk and someone was meant to be sorting out the situation.

He also threw in a call for the so-called “Karens” to step in and fix things, because apparently even the weather needs their customer service now.
