Certain Hollywood stories keep resurfacing, and at this point, it feels less like glamour and more like a reality check nobody asked for, but everyone should probably hear.
The latest comes from Khloé Kardashian, who has explained why she has no desire to return to Coachella after a troubling experience years ago.
Speaking on her podcast "Khloé in Wonder Land", she reflected on attending the festival once around 2016, but says things quickly shifted after an off-site party. “I’ve gone once,” she said. “It wasn’t the best experience.”
She went on to describe a situation where drinks were being passed around, and she later realised something was not right. “I got drugged without me knowing,” she explained, adding that in hindsight, “I think everyone knew.”
She admitted she did not immediately understand what was happening to her, only later putting the pieces together. “I just think I was the dumb one and didn’t realise that everyone was on drugs,” she said, reflecting on how disorienting the experience became.
At one point, things escalated to the point where she removed herself completely from the environment. “I remember drinking this drink and just feeling really crazy,” she shared.
That feeling of confusion led her to lock herself in a bathroom for hours. “I just didn’t realise what was happening until after it happened,” she added. “I got scared. I was in my head. I was so scared.”
And Kardashian is not the only one who has spoken about unsettling experiences tied to being drugged. The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Lisa Rinna has also shared her experience recently.
Rinna shared a disturbing night at a Hollywood event where she says she suddenly became disoriented and needed help leaving.
She later claimed medical tests showed substances in her system, including fentanyl and amphetamines, though no official investigation has confirmed how they got there.
She described the experience as frightening and said it raised broader concerns about safety in entertainment spaces. As she put it, “I was not in control of what was happening to me, and that was the scariest part.”
The venue involved denied any wrongdoing after an internal review.
For Kardashian, the conclusion is simple. She has not returned to Coachella since that night, and based on her account, she has no plans to. Slay honestly.
On the surface, it is a celebrity recalling a bad festival memory. But underneath it sits a wider conversation about safety, perception and what really happens when the music stops and the lights fade in spaces that are constantly romanticised.
