Monique Muller, well-known South African influencer and former girlfriend of award-winning presenter Katlego Maboe, has yet again found herself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
Muller was recently arrested in Ravensmead, Cape Town, on charges of illegal firearm possession, with connections to gang-related activities.
Online reports indicate that Muller's arrest is linked to alleged gang affiliations.
It was reported that the home where the firearm was found is connected to a known gang hitman, raising concerns about the extent of her involvement.
According to "Cape Argus", Muller, who has been in custody for nearly a week, appeared before the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on October 21 along with several other co-accused.
The matter has been remanded to October 30.
Before this incident, Muller had mostly stayed out of the public eye.

Muller gained popularity for her relationship with Maboe.
The couple, who share their son, Phoenix Katlego Maboe, had a tumultuous relationship that ended in a very public dispute back in 2020.
The same year, a video went viral in which Maboe confessed to cheating on Muller, leading her to accuse him of abuse and seek a temporary protection order.
She also alleged he had transmitted an STD to her, which had reportedly impacted her fertility, but Maboe denied the claims.
The escalating scandal had significant repercussions for Maboe's career, leading to his dismissal from the "Expresso Morning Show", the termination of his endorsement deal with OUTsurance, and his exclusion from the Saftas nominations.
He has since reclaimed his public image and returned to television.
