Sol Phenduka reveals court case with Minnie Dlamini behind his Kaya FM suspension

Radio host, podcaster and DJ on the recent "Podcast and Chill" episode has shed light on his suspension at Kaya 959.

Kaya 959 presenter, DJ and podcaster Sol Phenduka has finally shed light on why he was suspended from his radio gig.

Fans and listeners were left in shock when Kaya 959, on Wednesday, announced, in a statement, that Phenduka had been suspended with immediate effect pending the outcome of an internal process currently underway.

"The station is committed to following due process, and no further details will be shared at this stage. Updates will be provided once the internal process has been concluded and a final decision has been reached," read the brief statement.

Speculation was rife on social media, with netizens weighing in on the reason behind the suspension. Some speculated that the ongoing legal action by Minnie Dlamini following comments on "Podcast and Chill" about the media personality could be the reason behind the suspension.

Phenduka had tweeted that told curious netizens to watch the Thursday podcast episode to get he answers they were looking for.

The "Diqabang" hitmaker revealed on the podcast what the suspension is about, saying he did nothing.

"This happened this morning, when I left the meeting, they said don't say anything. So i don't say anything because of the confidentiality clause.

"I'm suspended for seven days. I'm suspended... You know what it's about, the court case with Minnie.

"It's an old story, but when the court case happened, then they came through. Cause then obviously you've brought the station into dispute, cuase what you are affilated with outiside

"I'm surprised cause they were like, don't talk about it, then they dropped the statement, but I'm like guys I'm doing a podcast."

Phenduka revealed that there is new management at Kaya 959 and that he said nothing during the meeting.

Mac G (Macgyver Mukwevho) Phenduka's co-host who also previously worked at Kaya 959, said that it's over for Phendka at the station as that's how they got rid of him.

"Writing is on the wall, it's quite clear where this is going but I lasted though," said Phenduka.

Phenduka joined Kaya 959 three years ago. The former "Big Brother" contestant was also previously suspended by 5FM back in 2015 after he made offensive comments about murders in Stellenbosch.
