Higher education minister Buti Manamela has come under fire for appointing administrators believed to be ‘corrupt’
@Vincent_Kolobe You have been deputizing since 2014, and the first thing you do after getting a big break is to follow in the footsteps of your corrupt role models? Kante what exactly are you guys being taught ko that so-called @MYANC school of leadership?
@ Buss1nessG3nius If I am reading correctly, guys get implicated in one matter or another, then wait for dust to settle, then await reassignment to the next gig? What selection criteria was used here, maybe let’s ask that first.
@ Mzifaku Aren’t people vetted for unresolved alleged crimes. Are they charged? It’s one thing to allege and anyone can be accused even for malicious purposes.
@ Monyela29Tebogo I think they are racing against time to feast. They are competing against each other when it comes to feasting. The new motto is I have eaten more than what you have eaten!
@ sto001 It’s no longer public service, it’s competitive looting. Services SETA lost R193m, CETA nearly R80m, LGSETA wrote off R52m and paid R11m irregularly. Instead of fixing, they rotate the same cadres. The motto is not skills development, it’s ‘eat before you’re out.’
@ Libetarianza The tragic human side of this is that there are millions living in abject poverty, people who can’t afford proper medical treatment, or a halfway decent education for their children or even a meal on the table, while these things are blatantly ripping taxpayers off to the tune of hundreds and hundreds of hundreds of millions of our money and nothing ever happens to them and the voters keep voting for them. I honestly don’t understand it.
@ tsitso09 The ANC is defiant with its corruption. It is clear the predecessor was instructed on what to do. He is doing the same. The ANC will never change. The only option is to vote it out.
@mabalaneBakang We can’t wait for the next thing. The country is on its knees. Someone, some institution must call for a state of emergency and call for a 6 months national convention to redress our laws, electoral process, institutions & their systems of governance etc.
@maluma_vbs I honestly don’t think they have the ability to think outside of cadre deployment. It’s ingrained into their psyche. And on that basis, the ANC is so devoid of morality that they can’t appoint anyone from the ANC who isn’t implicated in something.
@sihleLonzi Why would you put a SETA under administration before finalising Board appointments? Why advertise Board positions if there is no honest intention to appoint new Boards? A 12-month administration means NO BOARD for a YEAR, effectively disbanding a board that never even started.
@bonglez Nkabane fell because she lied about the process of SETA board appointments. Her successor has his own set of rogues also embroiled in allegations of disregard for how they use public funds. They carelessly splurged millions in questionable spending but are being rewarded richly!
@athenkosi591 Bhuti Manamela Minister of Higher Education has appointed three administrators to SETA’s linked to a R800-million corruption scandal. I now get what Cmsr SihleLonzi was talking about. This man has completely started on a wrong foot.
