Precious Agbede aka PaBrymo, an Afrobeats sensation who is based Cape Town, South Africa, is an artist deserving of our attention.

Originally from Benin City in Nigeria, PaBrymo has lived a journey filled with creativity and resilience, two key elements that have shaped his musical style and ethos.

“As a boy from Benin City, it felt surreal to imagine back then that this could be a reality,” says PaBrymo, reflecting on his humble beginnings and the dreams that have fuelled his passion for music.

He defines himself as a fervent fashion and lifestyle enthusiast with a profound passion for the arts as he channels his creative expression primarily through his music, making him a talent worth keeping an eye on.

The singer says his stage name is a blend of his real name, and a name his childhood friends back in Benin City would call him.

“My stage name literally comes from my real name, Precious Agbede (PA) and then Brymo is a name my friends back in Benin would call me and it kinda just stuck with me so yeah - PaBrymo.

I was also part of the church choir growing up that’s where I first discovered my love for music and as a kid from Benin city, I had big dreams of being in the industry one day,” he says.

on August 18 via his own Woke Entertainment imprint in partnership with Dvpper Music (Omah Lay, Seyi Vibez), PaBrymo released his sophomore EP, the City Boy EP, a powerful project that is a testament to his artistic evolution.

On his new body of works, PaBrymo reveals a unique blend of passion, energy, and authenticity that he brings to the afrobeats music landscape.

He features guest appearances from the likes of Odumodublck, Seyi Vibez, and Kida Kudz. This stellar project is packed with five dynamic tracks that are bound to captivate listeners, and showcase the rich and diverse style, sound, and culture of his hometown Benin City that has deeply influenced PaBrymo unique sound.

“Benin gave me a strong ability to listen, study and build always on any genre. I made the EP City Boys out of no stress; those songs were out of mostly inspiration and good practice,” he tells GQ. “As an artist who understands their craft it’s easy to recreate anything. I always recreate whatever fascinates me while listening to other celebrated artists.”

The City Boy EP is a promise, a statement, and an invitation: to dance, to celebrate, and to be a part of PaBrymo’s incredible journey.

Unpacking the inspiration behind this new project and his determination to break barriers, PaBrymo says, “I wanted to incorporate the highs of the lifestyle we’re living – the good and fun times, the vibes, women, and all that. I also want the entire world to hear the style, sound, and culture from Benin that has influenced my music today.”

His deep connection with the music is intricately woven with his life and experiences, and he believes that his success is partly due to the strong community he was nurtured in.

PaBrymo’s team consist of a group of long-time friends who continue to support his rising career, and his love for community extends beyond personal connections. “I take community seriously and my main aim is to inspire and influence others with my art,” he shares.

The afrobeats star, writes and records his own music through his record label Woke Entertainment which is not just a business, but a mission to support the talent and community that PaBrymo cherishes deeply.

He says his future plans are to continue releasing music and to reach global domination.

“I want the entire world to hear the style, sound and culture from Benin that has influenced my music today. And the main goal above all is to bring a grammy home for my Benin People, amen!

“When it comes to writing music majority of the inspiration comes naturally to me but also is influenced by my surroundings, the people, and emotions,” says the singer.

“I try to pen down and make notes whenever I feel inspired but yeah, I also freestyle a lot! When I’m not making music, this Benin boy loves to play video games, I love fashion and most importantly God, I read my bible!”
