Alleged Sexy Boys gang leader Jerome “Donkie” Booysen and his businessman son Joel’s viewing of the Springbok training session in Belhar on Wednesday was cut short by the cops.

In preparation for the Springboks game against the Wallabies on Saturday, the back-to-back world champions arrived to train at the Erica Park sports ground.

A flock of supporters attended to watch Rassie Erasmus put his team through their paces, including Belhar Rugby Football Club president Booysen, and Joel.

However, both rugby enthusiasts were greeted by an unexpected visit by Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) police officials who confiscated firearms from their vehicles.

According to sources, the firearms are legally licensed.

A video shared on social media saw Joel angry with a one official.

Booysen is currently appearing in the Western Cape High Court in the trial of the murder of slain steroid kingpin Brian Wainstein.

Booysen was accused alongside Mark Lifman and Andre Naude, who were gunned down last November and June of this year, respectively.

Other charges include conspiracy to commit public violence and intimidation, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, conspiracy to commit murder and gang related offences.

The case is dealing with a trial-within-a-trial to deal with intercepted phone calls related to a drug syndicate the State claims was being run by Booysen and several others.

Meanwhile, his drug trial has been postponed to November as both cases cannot run at the same time.

Booysen and his co-accused Kenneth Hansen, Kristo Mariens, Clinton Langeveld, Jennen Jansen and Herbert Zoutman face over 90 charges of drug trafficking under the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (POCA).

The group faces a string of drug dealing charges and were busted several years ago amid an investigation by the Hawks who allegedly intercepted calls relating to alleged drug drops.

It alleges the Mandrax was smuggled from as well as more than 90 properties in Kasselsvlei, Bellville and Glenhaven where it was believed the Mandrax was taken to.

Meanwhile, Joel is known for keeping up with his nightclub appearances at his own club the Sneaker Cartel in Cape Town CBD.

The Belhar Community Policing Forum (CPF) board was contacted for a comment, however they could not provide one as they were not aware of the matter.
