Controversial football pundit Roy Keane was captured on social media challenging an irate fan to a fight after Manchester United’s Premier League encounter against hosts Ipswich on Sunday.

United drew 1-1 with Ipswich in new coach Ruben Amorim’s first match in charge of the Red Devils.

The 53-year-old Keane made over 300 appearances for United from 1993 to 2005 which included seven league title wins and one Champions League crown.

Now working as an analyst for Sky Sports, Keane was seen having a heated exchange with a fan in a video posted on X by @The_Forty_Four.

‘Take it to the car park’

Keane can be heard saying to the fan “I’ll wait for you in the car park and we can discuss it” as he moved into the fan’s personal space with a clearly, physically challenging demeanour.

Keane is known for his contentious views on English football, which was in line with his fiery, aggressive approach to his game as one of the best midfielders of his generation.

Earlier this month, Keane criticised the performances of United skipper Bruno Fernandes under Erik ten Hag, who was axed last month.

Before Amorim took charge, United had made their worst league start since the 1986/1987 season as they are down in 13th place with 12 points from 10 matches, with just three wins from 10 to begin their campaign.

The United skipper Fernandes had since apologised to Ten Hag for his side’s poor performances which saw the coach shown the door at Old Trafford.

Keane said the words of Fernandes meant little.

“Too little, too late. Listen, these are always awkward interviews but I wouldn’t have much time and patience for a player to say ‘listen, sorry we’ve let you down’. Too little, too late,” said Keane.
