The response to the Ukrainian armed forces’ strikes on the Taganrog airfield will follow when and in the manner deemed appropriate, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the Russian Defence Ministry said that the armed forces of Ukraine attacked the Taganrog airfield with six ATACMS missiles.

Two missiles were shot down, the rest were deflected by electronic warfare.

There are casualties among the personnel as a result of the missile fragments falling.

"I would like to recall the absolutely unambiguous and direct statement of the Russian Defence Ministry, which was made yesterday, where it was clearly stated that a response will follow.

The response, naturally, will follow when and in the way that is deemed appropriate, but it will definitely follow," Peskov told reporters.
