Legendary kwaito group, Trompies, which comprises Mandla “Spikiri” Mofokeng, Eugene Mthethwa and Jairus “Jakarumba” Nkwe, is set to headline the star-studded Soulaced Sessions: House x Kwaito on Sunday, December 15, at Emperors Palace.

The festival, curated by Edsoul, is a tribute to the music that shaped a generation as well as an invitation to rekindle timeless memories.

The organisers said in a statement that the event promises to be a treat for those who remember the infectious energy of kwaito sweeping the streets across the country and the soulful house that dominated our local clubs.

Those who will also take to the stage include renowned US deep house producer, Harrison Crump as well as Edsoul, who will be performing alongside a live band.

Joining them are Lerato Kganyago, DJ Mbuso, Nicky B, Kitchenmess, Zeedan and Picat Da Italian, with MaBlerh as the MC.

Edsoul also explained in a statement that the event is dedicated to curating unforgettable musical experiences.

“We are a country that is strongly bonded by our love for timeless music and our events bring together talented artists, passionate music lovers and a vibrant community.”

He added that the gathering will also be an occasion for Mzansi to celebrate the culture and enduring spirit of South African music.

“We want to reflect on how far we have come, while remembering the songs that formed the soundtrack of our lifetime.”

Jameson Festive Market

Grammy Award-winning Anderson Paak is set to deliver an electrifying performance at the world’s first Jameson Festive Market, which is coming to Sandton this Sunday, December 15, and Monday, December 16.

The musician, who will perform on the first day of the event, is renowned for his smooth voice and his ability to bring people together through music.

Meanwhile, from cocktails to exclusive merchandise, there is something for everyone to enjoy the holiday mood as the organisers promised attendees that the event will be an unforgettable blend of holiday cheer and whiskey-inspired fun.

Some other fun activities that guests can look forward to are to taste the new Jameson Triple Triple while also savouring whiskey-infused food and whiskey tasting sessions.

There will also be a chance to personalise your merchandise, get your gifts wrapped on-site and to play interactive games inspired by the Jameson spirit.

Gauteng Soul and gospel concert

Some of Mzansi’s biggest gospel stars will take to the stage at this soulful gathering.

They include the likes of Dr. Tumi, Lebo Sekgobela, Dumi Mokokstad, Samthing Soweto, Ami Faku and Teboho Moloi.

They will be joined by Press, Musa, Mandisi Dyantyis, Bucy Radebe and Omega Khunou.

This year’s event, which is the third to take place, is returning by popular demand. No under-13s will be permitted entry.

Where: The SunBet Arena in Time Square, Pretoria.

When: Sunday, December 15, from 4pm.

Rooftop Gin Festival

Raise your glass to an unforgettable celebration of flavour, music and magical moments with loved ones at the Rooftop Gin Festival, which is hosted by Rosebank Mall.

The event promises an exhilarating mix of craft gins, gourmet food and show-stopping live entertainment which will all be set against a stunning rooftop sunset.

The event organisers said in a statement that the gathering will feature over 10 of South Africa’s finest craft gin distilleries.

There will also be delicious cuisines to enjoy while renowned artists Lady Zamar and Holly Rey entertain the crowd.

“With a hand-picked selection of premium gins, mouthwatering culinary creations and electrifying live entertainment, every moment is designed to be savoured and cherished,” Rosebank Mall’s marketing manager Angelisa Gengan said in a statement.

Where: Rosebank Mall’s rooftop level four parking.

When: Saturday, December 14, from 2pm to 9pm.

Dress in festive shades of rich red, deep green, shimmering gold or crisp white for a stylish and joyful picnic at Sandton’s Maslow Hotel on Sunday, December 15.

Attendees will get the chance to indulge in a specially curated picnic for two with a selection of gourmet treats, which range from appetisers to decadent desserts.
