Cape Town’s favourite summer spot, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, is turning up the vibes this New Year’s Eve with two of Mzansi’s brightest stars, Will Linley and Lloyiso.

These home-grown talents are set to make your year-end celebration unforgettable as part of the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts.

At 23, Cape Town-born Linley has sky-rocketed in the music scene, winning hearts with his relatable music.

Since dropping his debut single “Miss Me (When You’re Gone)”, which went viral faster than you could say “Who’s this guy?”, Linley’s been serving hit after hit, including “Magic” and “Last Call.”

He’s not just killing it locally; Linley has taken his talent global, performing at Lollapalooza in Chicago, opening for acts like OneRepublic and Maroon 5, and rocking stages at home-grown festivals like Rocking the Daisies.

When asked about his latest track, “Just Because I Called You,” Will shared with “Saturday Star”: “This song is three years in the making. I wrote it the same summer I worked on ‘Miss Me (When You’re Gone)’ and finally felt the timing was right to release it.”

Reflecting on this milestone moment, he added, “Growing up in Cape Town, I always dreamed of playing at Kirstenbosch. It’s such an iconic venue, and I’m beyond excited to celebrate New Year’s Eve on that stage with everyone.”

Joining Linley on stage straight outta Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) is Lloyiso, who has been pulling at heartstrings with his powerful voice and soul-stirring performances.

Signed to Universal Music Group South Africa, he’s no stranger to big stages and has worked with global stars like Martin Garrix. His EP Seasons even went platinum, proving he’s got that magic touch.

Lloyiso, who also bagged the 2023 SAMA Award for Best Pop Album, is hyped about joining Will at Kirstenbosch. Some of his most popular songs include "Seasons", "Speak", "Let Me Love You Now" and "Run."

He said: “There’s no better way to say goodbye to 2024 and hello to 2025 than sharing music with an audience that inspires me. Kirstenbosch is more than just a venue; it symbolises unity and celebration.”

“I’m thrilled to join Will Linley for what I know will be an unforgettable night. Let’s make memories together, singing and dancing into the new year!”

The Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts are all about good music, good vibes, and gorgeous views.

JP Smith from the City of Cape Town also commented: “Hosting talents like Will Linley and Lloyiso in one of the world’s most stunning venues is the perfect way to ring in the new year. This concert is about unity, creativity, and celebrating everything Cape Town stands for.”
