What happens when love defies deeply entrenched beliefs? Mzansi Magic’s new series, “Umkhonto Ogwaza Ekhaya” will take viewers on a compelling journey to find out.

The gripping 13-part episode explores the lives of courageous couples who find themselves entangled in forbidden love, societal expectations and the pursuit of family approval.

Each episode introduces viewers to couples who have bravely dared to fall in love despite being related.

Their passionate romances have flourished in the shadows of cultural norms, prompting the question that looms over them: will their families ever accept their love?

Each couple will embark on a raw and intensely personal journey to seek acceptance for their future together, all while digging up hidden truths that threaten their relationships.

“Viewers can expect shocking revelations, dramatic confrontations and emotional breakdowns, but, with secrets waiting to spill and family bonds unravelling, will love to be enough to overcome it all,” read a statement from the channel.

Presented by actor, director and TV host, Wright Ngubeni, who is popular for his work on “Love Back”, “Kedibone” and “Duma”, this show promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

“With family judgment and past wounds running deep, tensions rise when they must confront their loved ones about their future. There is also the issue of parenthood - will they be seen as role models or condemned as rebels?

“The journey is raw, real and rife with drama,” shared the statement.

This is a reality series that is poised to challenge perceptions, evoke deep emotions and celebrate the power of love in a world filled with obstacles.
