It saddens and continues to confound me (I am a retired Anglican priest) that the church’s law making body can forbid the blessing of same-sex couples who are experiencing the mystery and wonder of love.

Genuine love between any two persons of whatever religion or none, of whatever race or nationality or gender, is for me part of the manifestation of God who is the very source of all love.

I admire the courage of those same-sex couples whose faith leads them to seek the blessing of God's church as they commit their lives and love to each other. And I admire the love and courage that cannot stop such couples being blessed within the context of a loving faith community.
